My work is focused on shape, color, line, and, design. I find inspiration in nature, the objects in the “everyday”, and my Cuban heritage. I welcome the subtle influences of my ethnic heritage while trying to transcend them by applying universal themes to my subjects.

I’m currently working on a series of paintings that applies a pop art aesthetic to iconic commercial products from my childhood in Miami. I collectively call this three-year project “Cuban POP”.  The series is colorful, nostalgic, and playful as it explores a culture and childhood thru the influence of mainstream consumerism and popular culture.
